Hi! I’m Dr. Dan DeAngelo. I grew up right here in Youngstown, Ohio. I went to school at St. Charles in Boardman then Cardinal Mooney High School graduating in 1979. I went on to receive three degrees from The Ohio State University. I completed my B.S. in Biology and my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from OSU’s Dental School in 1986.
I returned home and worked with my father, Dr. Dante DeAngelo, and his partner, Dr. Don Centofante. I got to work with and learn from them for eight great years. At that point, I went back to Ohio State for three years to complete training in the full time accredited residency program in orthodontics, receiving a Master’s degree in oral biology and a certificate in orthodontics. My father, Dr. Dante DeAngelo, retired from orthodontics in 1999. Dr. Don Centofante retired two years later and I have continued on since then.
For many years, I volunteered on the craniofacial team at Forum Hospital, working with children born with cleft lip and cleft palate along with other dental/facial issues. I also volunteered with the general practice residency program there teaching the residents about recognizing orthodontic problems in their general dental patients. I am a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontists, which is the highest level of certification that can be achieved by an orthodontist. I am also a member of the Cleveland Society of Orthodontists and have enjoyed serving on the board holding a series of positions leading to presidency in the 2009-2010 term.
I am blessed to have a wonderful wife Jacqueline, and three lovely daughters Jessica, Danielle, and Jean. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to carry on the craft of my father creating beautiful smiles for the people of our community, both young and young at heart.
